Bedroom, Decorating, Kids

With a little money and a lot of creativity, you can transform your child’s room into something special.
Wall decals/stickers add graphic drama in an instant, with out a long term commitment because they simply peel off. When choosing wall decals opt for the larger sizes; and let your imagination run wild. Or better yet, let your kids have some fun with it by helping you apply them. Explore your local dollar store as some of them carry decals. Remember to think outside the box.

Kids are collectors, so make it easy for them to keep it neat. Use peel and stick cork-found at craft stores. Simply peel off backing and attach to any wall for a fun pin up. Alternatively, galvanized metal is fairly inexpensive and can be purchased in sheets and mounted to walls. PRESTO..instant magnetic board.

Lighting is also a very important feature, Include many kinds of lighting. Overall lighting is a must, but so is a reading light next to a cozy chair to encourage reading. A night light can help with late night bathroom visits.

If space is a premium; try pushing the bed against a wall. Then add an upholstered queen size headboard along the bedside. This gives it the look of a daybed and keeps kids from falling between the bed and the wall while asleep.

Remember that imagination is key, so keep creating…..till next time.
